Founded by watercolor artist Catarina Olefir, the studio was born on the sunlit coast of the Algarve, Portugal, where the sea breeze and vibrant landscapes inspire every brushstroke.

Our name, ArtDoSol — “Art of the Sun” — reflects this connection: light, color, and creativity blending into one soulful expression.

Hello, I’m Catarina — a watercolor artist and art teacher based in Portugal.

For me, painting is a journey of observation and emotion — a way to capture the fleeting beauty of light, reflections, and atmosphere. My work is rooted in nature and inspired by the delicate balance between control and spontaneity.

Over the years, I’ve developed a teaching approach that blends artistic fundamentals with creative freedom — helping each student discover their own voice through color, flow, and mindfulness.

My artworks have been exhibited in international festivals and exhibitions across Italy, USA, Portugal, France, Spain, China, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and Germany.
At the 1st International Watercolor Exhibition in New Zealand, I was honored with a Bronze Award.

I regularly host watercolor workshops, plein-air sessions, and immersive art retreats in the Algarve and on Madeira Island — where creativity meets nature and light.
