The Villa Termal Caldas de Monchique Spa Resort, nestled in the serene Monchique Mountains of Portugal, is the only thermal spa resort in the Algarve.
Surrounded by breathtaking nature, here tradition meets modern comfort to deliver a truly unique experience of renewal and tranquility in one of Europe’s most beautiful regions.
Our retreat offers authentic, cozy single room accomodation with indoor and outdoor pools, scenic hiking trails and artistic atmoshpere.

What is included in the price of retreat
The price includes single-room accommodation, daily breakfasts, day trip to the ocean, all art materials, and guided workshops.
Flights, transfers, lunches, dinners and SPA acess are not included.
We can assist with transfers upon request.
Do I need any art experience to join?
Do I need any art experience to join?
No! The retreat is perfect for beginners as well as experienced artists. You’ll get step-by-step guidance and freedom to explore your own style.
Can I come with a friend or partner?
Absolutely! Friends and partners are welcome. Non-painting guests can enjoy the SPA, walks in nature, and relaxation.
What language is spoken during workshop?
Workshops are led in English.
What’s the weather like in Fabruary?
Mild and pleasant — around +11…+15°C during the day, cooler in the evenings. Bring a jacket or sweater.
What should I bring with me?
Comfortable clothes for painting, swimwear for the SPA, walking shoes, and of course — a festive mood! All art materials are included.
Are meals included?
Daily breakfasts and welcome dinner are included. Lunches and dinners are available at the hotel and nearby restaurants.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Please let us know in advance (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies). We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.
Is travel insurance required?
We recommend having it for peace of mind, especially if you’re flying from abroad.
What kind of accommodation is provided?
You’ll stay at Villa Termal Caldas de Monchique, a charming thermal SPA hotel in the Algarve mountains. Both single and shared rooms are available (for partners and friends).
Can I extend my stay?
Yes, you can arrive earlier or stay longer. Just let us know — we’ll help with arrangements.
How do I get to the retreat location?
The nearest airport is Faro (approx. 45 minutes by car). Lisbon is about 2 hours away. We can assist with transfers upon request.
How do I secure my spot?
Your place is confirmed with a deposit. The remaining balance can be paid closer to the retreat date.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations up to 2 weeks before the retreat receive a refund minus the deposit.
What will I take home?
Your own artworks, new friendships, and — most importantly — restored energy and inspiration.
How many participants will there be?
The group is small and intimate — maximum 8 people — for a cozy and personal atmosphere.
