In just three days, you’ll create your own painting, design Christmas cards and bookmarks, and explore the magical techniques of watercolor sketching and sun printing — all while enjoying the simple pleasure of making art by hand.

Retreat Program
Day 1
Our adventure begins with an inspiring watercolor and sketching workshop. In the evening, we gather for a magical welcome dinner in an authentic Portuguese restaurant, savoring traditional flavors and raising a toast to the days ahead.
14:00 – Arrival & Check-in: Settle into the hotel, breathe, and prepare for the journey.
14:00–16:00 – Free Time: Rest after the trip, explore the surroundings.
16:00–18:30 – Creative Warm-Up: Sketching & watercolor basics workshop.
19:00 – Dinner: Warm and nourishing meal together in the restaurant.
21:00 – Rest: Return to the hotel for relaxation and sleep.
Day 2
This day is dedicated to art and renewal. In the morning you will paint your own artworks, create a handmade 2026 calendar, and craft beautiful bookmarks using sun printing, watercolor, and sketching techniques.
After a leisurely lunch break, prepare to unwind in a legendary SPA, famous for its unique thermal waters found nowhere else in Europe. The healing power of nature will embrace you, leaving body and mind refreshed.
09:00 – Breakfast: Gentle start of the day.
10:00–14:00 – Painting Journey: Creative session with guided support — create your masterpiece.
14:00–15:00 – Lunch: Delicious meal to recharge.
16:00 – Spa & Relaxation: Legendary Monchique spa treatments with thermal waters.
Free Evening: dinner, forest walk, journaling, or time for yourself.
Day 3
On our final day, we step into the open air for a plein-air painting session amidst breathtaking landscapes.
Our journey concludes with a closing exhibition, where we celebrate the artworks created and the unforgettable memories shared.

10:30–13:30 – Plein-air— enjoy the charm of painting on the nature. All the secreats of quick watercolor sketching are waiting for you.
13:30–14:00 – Farewell Tea & Sharing Circle: Final reflections, gratitude, and warm closing moments.

The price includes single-room accommodation, daily breakfasts, welcome dinner, 2hours of SPA treatment, all art materials, and guided workshops.
Flights, transfers, lunches and 1 dinner are not included.
We can assist with transfers upon request.
Do I need any art experience to join?
Do I need any art experience to join?
No! The retreat is perfect for beginners as well as experienced artists. You’ll get step-by-step guidance and freedom to explore your own style.
Can I come with a friend or partner?
Absolutely! Friends and partners are welcome. Non-painting guests can enjoy the SPA, walks in nature, and relaxation.
What language is spoken during workshop?
Workshops are led in English.
What’s the weather like in November?
Mild and pleasant — around +15…+20°C during the day, cooler in the evenings. Bring a light jacket or sweater.
What should I bring with me?
Comfortable clothes for painting, swimwear for the SPA, walking shoes, and of course — a festive mood! All art materials are included.
Are meals included?
Daily breakfasts and welcome dinner are included. Lunches and 1 dinner are available at the hotel and nearby restaurants.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
Please let us know in advance (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies). We’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.
Is travel insurance required?
We recommend having it for peace of mind, especially if you’re flying from abroad.
What kind of accommodation is provided?
You’ll stay at Villa Termal Caldas de Monchique, a charming thermal SPA hotel in the Algarve mountains. Both single and shared rooms are available (for partners and friends).
Can I extend my stay?
Yes, you can arrive earlier or stay longer. Just let us know — we’ll help with arrangements.
How do I get to the retreat location?
The nearest airport is Faro (approx. 45 minutes by car). Lisbon is about 2 hours away. We can assist with transfers upon request.
How do I secure my spot?
Your place is confirmed with a deposit. The remaining balance can be paid closer to the retreat date.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellations up to 2 weeks before the retreat receive a refund minus the deposit.
What will I take home?
Your own artworks, unique handmade Christmas gifts, new friendships, and — most importantly — restored energy and inspiration.
How many participants will there be?
The group is small and intimate — maximum 5 people — for a cozy and personal atmosphere.
